Check it out!!

Don't forget to check out some of my earlier blogs because I finally got pictures to put with them. So even if you have already read the blog, you might want to check out the pic's!! By the way I'm not sure why there is such a big gap between my "This is a Test" blog and the "Pop-n-Pins" blog. Can anyone help me fix that. I can't have a big gap in my blog now can I!!!

Valentines Weekend

Jake is in his competitive mode while playing the Wii (Can you tell?)
Kris is ready for the challenge
Holly working her magic and giving us girls a boost with a treatment of "glitter toes"

Melanie relaxing with her "babies"

Timber, Dixie, and Charlie, make themselves comfy on the bed. Where are you sleeping Mel and Jake??

The Bevans waiting for their grub at "Wingers"

The "mature" table

The "not so mature" table. Jake is the ring leader.

Another "real cute kid". I wonder if Stephanie knows what she's getting into with that crazy boy. By the way that is not a real tatoo on Chase. He did a little creative work with a pen on himself. Gotta love the phases teenagers go through, ugh!!!

Isn't this a happy table!!

What a fun weekend we had for Valentines. Jake and Melanie along with their 3 "babies" (dogs) came up to visit us on Friday night until early Monday morning. We always have a fun and crazy time when Jake and Mel come up. They really got into playing Chance's Wii game. They were playing Mario Bros. It was pretty funny! On Sat. late afternoon Holly, Kris, and Avry came up to pick up Burton and Macie from their stay at Mima and Papa's. Holly treated all of us girls by giving our toenails the "glitter" treatment. They looked awesome!! We felt pretty stylin. Thanks Holl!! Afterwards around 4 o'clock, Me, Joe, our 4 youngest kids, plus Chase's girlfriend Stephanie, Jake, Mel and all the Bevans headed out for dinner in Logan. Our first attempt was at Texas Roadhouse but it was too busy, so we headed over to Wingers and had a delicious dinner. After stuffing ourseslves, the Bevans headed home for Lehi and the rest of us were off to the movies to see "Valentines Day" There were mixed reviews of how good it was (or not) but nonetheless it was great because we were all together. We ended the night by going home and having ice cream and watching the video, "A Walk in the Clouds" (I love that movie). On Sunday we enjoyed sleeping in because church was in the afternoon. The rest of the day was spent going to church, playing games, eating Valentine treats, etc. etc. It was a good time. It got kind of crazy with the grandkids, our 2 dogs, Jakes 3 dogs, and all the rest of us crammed in our little abode, but that's where the memories are. We truly live on a Funny Farm and we couldn't be happier!! My cup runneth over!!!

Sad News!!

Grandma Childers called today with the sad news that great-grandma Jenkski passed away on Wed. morning. She had been sick the last month with pnemonia so I assume that might have had something to do with it, I'm not sure though, Gram didn't have too many details. What a sweet lady she was. I feel bad because we were planning to visit her when we went to Disneyland in March. I never had a chance to meet her but I really enjoyed writing to her and talking to her on the phone. She was very appreciative of all the letters and things that we all sent her. The funeral will be in California but we won't be able to go. She was probably happy to go because she didn't have any family left. Grandpa Childers was probably happy to see her on the other side. We love you Grandma Ginny!!!

Grandkids a plenty!!

Avery came up on Sat. afternoon. She didn't get to stay with Mima and Papa like Burton and Macie did. We were so glad to see her on Sat. She is so cute, so happy!
Burton was my little buddy! We had a great time playing together!

Princess Macie loved playing with the castle. Anything to d0 with being a princess, Macie loves it!

Brynee came to stay with us for the first two days
of the week.

Brynee with Uncle Chase. What a doll she is!

We have been having grandkids week this last week. On Monday night, (Feb. 8th), Brynlee Rose came to stay with us until Wed. night. Her daddy had to work and her mom went with Grandma Pam up to Boise to see Brynlee's Aunt Cassidy, so we had the grand opportunity of having her for 2 whole days to ourselves. It was awesome!! What a character that little girl is. She reminds me so much of her daddy when he was her age. Her mannerisms, facial expressions, the way she walks, her loving nature, (she was contstantly hugging and kissing me), her big brown eyes, and right down to the fact that she is a "major tease pot!" Her dad came out of the womb teasing and it looks like she has inherited that same gift! Have fun with that Trav!!! She is such a joy. How wonderful it was to have her in our home again. We have missed seeing her on a regular basis. I'm happy to say that she is still a "mima's girl", she was always wanting me to hold her. Sometimes I'm afraid my grandkids are going to forget me since we don't see them all the time, but she is still my buddy, yea for me!! We had lot's of fun all together, Bryn even got to come bowling with us with the Young Men and Young Women, (we are all in mutual now!). She did awesome, she got a strike and a spare with the help of the kiddie ramp. She loved it!! The mutual kids thought she was pretty cute too!! By Wed. night I was feeling teary-eyed and a bit empty because our time was going to be over. It was sad to see her go for all of us, hopefully it won't be too long before we can see her again!!

On that same Wed. night, not long after Brynee left, Joe came home from Utah with two little stow-aways (I have no clue if that's how you spell it), two of our sweet Bevans kids came up to visit for a few days, Burton and Macie! Fortunately my empty heart didn't stay empty for long because I had two more cute little grandkids to pal around with. We have had a great time too. We have worked on puzzles, played the Candyland Game, colored and did some sticker art, played with the toy castle, gone on safari with the safari animals and lots more. What delightful little kids they are. They have been as good as gold. I gotta say, I've got the best grandkids in the world! I am so blessed! Papa has been in on the fun for the most part too. He loves his grandbabies too. We have fun being grandparents together. He's my very best buddie, I love doing everything with him. Life is good! It's been a great week so far, thanks to our little grandbuddies. Hopefully we'll be able to see the other 4 grandkids soon, we miss them too. Thanks to our kids for doing such a good job in the baby department, keep up the good work!!

Masquerade Ball

"The Masked Marauders"
Stephanie Sharp, (Chase's girl),Chase, and Chance

Chase sweeps Steph off her feet

Aren't they cute together!!!

Chase was voted as the sophomore "Prince" for the dance!
Last Saturday night, (Feb. 6th), Preston High had a Masquerade Ball for their students. It was a stag dance; so Katelyn, Chase, and even Chance got to go. It was a formal affair and everyone had to wear a mask. We tried talking Chelsea into going but she said "No thank you, I'm not a dance person, it's my body," so that was that!! The few days before the dance was spent decorating their masks. On the night of the ball the kids got all spiffed up and off they went. Unfortunately Katelyn and Chase got ready at friends houses and we didn't get to see them until after the dance. We were able to take Chase, Stephanie, (Chase's cute little girlfriend,) and Chance's picture after they came back to the house. Katelyn came home after they did and didn't want her picture taken, (she is such a party pooper,) so you don't get to see how cute she looked. From the sounds of it, they had a great time. Apparently Chase was the life of the party and whooping it up in the style of his big brothers. In the past, Stephanie hasn't really enjoyed dances, but Chase told her that if she was with him, she had to have a good time, and Chase did his best to show her a good time, he had her movin and groovin. She had to admit that she had a GREAT time. Katelyn was cuttin loose as well, especially when they played "Footloose." Footloose is a family tradition and none of us can help shakin it when we hear that song. Katelyn and Chase did the family proud and really busted loose when they played it. Chance was a little bit nervous with it being his first High School dance and all, but he did all right on his own because one of the school cheerleaders asked him to dance. Such a "stud muffin". I was proud of him that he went. I was also proud of Chase that he was voted sophomore "Prince" at the dance. You heard it folks, we have royalty in the house. Needless to say, the night was a success and great memories were made.
